Heat Pumps
Heat Pumps
An air source heat pump (ASHP) is a heating and cooling system that transfers heat between the outdoor air and the indoor environment. It extracts heat from the outdoor air in colder seasons and transfers it indoors for heating purposes. In warmer seasons, the process can be reversed to extract heat from indoor air and release it outdoors for cooling.
There are two main types of air-source heat pumps:
1. Air-to-Air Heat Pumps: These heat pumps distribute heated or cooled air directly into the indoor spaces using fans and ductwork. They are primarily used for space heating and cooling.
2. Air-to-Water Heat Pumps: These heat pumps transfer the captured heat to a water-based central heating system, which can include underfloor heating, radiators, or a combination of both. They provide both space heating and domestic hot water.
About Us
From start to finish we can help you understand the benefits and suitability of ASHPs for your specific heating and cooling requirements. We can assess your property, consider factors such as insulation, layout, and energy usage, and recommend the appropriate ASHP system size and configuration. We will carry out the full install which involves where best to place the outdoor unit, connecting it to the indoor unit or distribution system, and ensuring that the system is properly integrated with the existing heating and cooling infrastructure of the building. Professional installation is crucial to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
